Prolift Access managing director Andy Pearson is swapping powered access for pedal power to complete his latest charity challenge – a gruelling 900-mile cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

Andy is riding alongside his friend Nigel Callun to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West, and the pair set off from Cornwall yesterday morning.

They are planning to cover between 80 and 110 miles per day, and aim to reach the tip of Scotland on Sunday, July 19.

All money raised will go towards the charity’s Charlton Farm hospice at Wraxall near Bristol – a cause close to Andy and Nigel’s hearts.

Andy said: “Our good friends Chris and Karen Cox have a lovely grandson called Thomas, who has been diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease.

“The family have been benefitting from the respite at Charlton Farm during Thomas’ illness, so we thought it would be great if we could help support such a great cause while completing a life-long ambition to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats.”
